Tractor Weights – Better Traction and Stability
Tractor weights are essential equipment for any farm where the tractor works with heavy front or rear implements. Proper machine balancing improves drive wheel traction, increases stability on slopes, and prevents the front or rear axle from lifting. At Motofarma.pl you will find weights from 20 to 800 kg, suited to various tractor models and field work types.
Types of Tractor Weights
Front Weights (Ballast on Hood)
Front weights are mounted on a ballast frame at the front of the tractor, on the hood or a dedicated front beam. They counterbalance heavy rear implements such as loaders, slurry tankers, spreaders or balers. Without adequate front ballast, the tractor loses steering and the front axle lifts, which is dangerous and damages the steering system.
Rear Weights (Three-Point Linkage)
Rear three-point linkage weights are designed for tractors working with front loaders, telescopic handlers, buckets or pallet forks. They shift the centre of gravity rearward, ensuring the rear drive wheels maintain proper ground contact and preventing tipping when lifting front loads.
Wheel Weights
Wheel weights are bolted directly to the front or rear wheel rims. They increase wheel mass and improve traction on wet, sandy or waterlogged ground without requiring an additional ballast frame.
FAQ
How much ballast does my tractor need?
As a general rule, front ballast should be about 20–25% of the rear implement mass, and rear ballast about 20–25% of the front implement mass. Check your tractor's operator manual for precise figures.
Are the weights compatible with my tractor?
Most front weights fit ballast frames compatible with John Deere, Fendt, New Holland, Claas, Deutz-Fahr, Zetor and other popular brands. Check frame dimensions and bolt spacing before ordering.
