Agricultural Trailers — Reliable Transport for Every Farm
An agricultural trailer is one of the most essential pieces of equipment on any farm. At Motofarma, we offer a wide range of trailers designed for tractors and ATVs — from lightweight single-axle models to heavy-duty twin-axle tipping trailers with high load capacity.
Types of Agricultural Trailers
Single-Axle Trailers
Single-axle trailers are compact and manoeuvrable, ideal for smaller farms and hard-to-reach terrain. They are commonly used with tractors up to 60 HP and with ATVs. Load capacity ranges from 500 kg to 2,000 kg.
Twin-Axle Trailers
Twin-axle trailers provide greater stability and higher load capacity — perfect for transporting heavy loads over longer distances. Load capacity can reach up to 8,000 kg, making them suitable for large-scale agricultural operations.
Tipping Trailers
Tipping trailers allow fast unloading without manual effort. The tipping mechanism is driven by a hydraulic cylinder connected to the tractor's hydraulic system or PTO. Single-sided (rear) and three-way tipping options are available.
Self-Loading Trailers
Self-loading trailers (forage wagons) are used for collecting and transporting grass, silage, or chopped straw directly from windrows, using a front pick-up and conveyor system.
Construction and Materials
Load bodies are made from structural steel with anti-corrosion treatment. Frames are built from welded or cold-formed closed-section steel profiles. Removable side and rear boards allow for oversized load transport.
Road Use and Registration
Agricultural trailers with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) above 750 kg require registration. Road use requires valid technical inspection, lighting (LED rear lamps, indicators, reflectors), and a functional braking system.
Applications
- Transporting grain, corn, sugar beet and other crops,
- Hauling round and square hay and straw bales,
- Spreading and transporting mineral and organic fertilisers,
- Manure and compost removal,
- Timber and building material transport.
FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Which trailer is suitable for an ATV?
For ATVs, a lightweight single-axle trailer with a load capacity of up to 500–800 kg and a 50 mm tow ball coupling is recommended. Always ensure the trailer's GVW does not exceed your ATV's towing capacity.
How does hydraulic tipping work?
The hydraulic cylinder is connected to the tractor's external hydraulic outlet. When pressurised oil is supplied, the cylinder extends and lifts the load body to a 45–55 degree angle. The body returns by gravity or reverse hydraulic pressure.
What is the difference between single-axle and twin-axle trailers?
Single-axle trailers are lighter, cheaper and more manoeuvrable. Twin-axle trailers offer higher load capacity, better road stability and reduced stress on the tractor's rear axle. The choice depends on the type of work and tractor power.
